"It's just a nice, quiet walk in the country with about 100 of your closest friends!"

In 2010 four friends got together to celebrate the courage of one of our members and set up this event.  Joyce had completed and conquered her battle with breast cancer.  Her family and friends stood by her side, feeling her pain and praying to God for his blessings.  To commemorate her remission, she wanted to walk from Zeeland, ND to Hague, ND with her family and friends.  This idea turned into what is now COURAGE AGAINST CANCER 5K/half-marathon walk/run/bike event.  We have gone from 60 participants to well over a hundred raising in access of $4,000 in our 3rd year.  EVERY PENNY RAISED GOES TO FINDING THE CURE!!!  Everything is donated by our generous sponsors and volunteers.  There is a balloon ceremony which gives others the chance to have the names of their loved ones who were unable to defeat this terrible disease, the names of those who are fighting still every day to overcome their cancer battle, and those brave survivors who conquered cancer heard by all!  It brings a tear and a smile to everyone watching all at the same time.  It makes us all feel strong and confident that eventually there will be a cure.  The vision of a hundred people walking up to the finish line makes us all feel like we will never be alone in this battle against cancer.  By participating you are helping and showing others that you have "COURAGE AGAINST CANCER"!
